Ailsa Horizons would like to announce the completion of the LEADER Enterprising Communities Project for Ballantrae, Barr, Dailly, lendalfoot, Mossblown and Tarbolton. The Action Plans have now been provided to the relevent communities and will hopefully serve as a guide to what they would like to see happening in the next few years.
This has been one of Ailsa Horizons' main activities for 2009/10 and the implementation of the 'Enterprising Communities Project' was jointly funded by the Ayrshire Leader programme, South Ayrshire Council and the local Horizons group. The project worked with villages to carry out community appraisals and Action Plans which communities can then take forward.
The appraisal and action plan process will feed into the Economnic Development Strategy of the Carrick Community Councils' Forum (CCCF), South Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership and national strategies.
Key issues that the appraisals included:
To facilitate the formulation of realistic achievable village-level development plans To build links amongst rural communities and between rural communities and wider networks To explore the potential for Business Development, identifying opportunities and where established businesses can work togetherTo work with community groups to identify the needs from their local community, fit these within the community action plans and then work with groups to implement action plansCreative and innovative ways of engaging with the communities are in progress. If you would like more information please contact the team.
This project was part-financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community Leader 2007-2013 Programme
