Carrick Community Councils' Forum

Ailsa Horizons Ltd has an excellant track record in Community Capacity Building, Economic Development and Regeneration activities. One of its main achievements is the formation of the Carrick Community Councils' Forum (CCCF) which represents over 60% of South Ayrshire's rural population.

The CCCF was established in July 2006. As the name suggests, it is a Forum for representatives from the Community Council's of the Carrick area. Its role is to work with and on behalf of local communities to share information and knowledge of what is going on and to contribute to improvements.

The aspirations of the CCCF are captured in their vision of Carrick which is encapsulated in their Economic Development Strategy:

'Carrick, The best place to live, work, rest and play'.

By producing and implementing this strategy, the CCCF will achieve a more co-ordinated and planned approach to service delivery, community support and the future development of the whole of Carrick.

Creating the 'bigger picture' has helped to empower individual local communities by providing a context in which their aspirations and action plans will be more achievable.

The influence of the CCCF has grown over the past year as it is increasingly recognised by other stakeholders, including South Ayrshire Community Planning partnership, as an important Forum for communication and action.

Ailsa Horizons will work with the Forum to secure funding for a Strategy Implementation Co-ordinator and speed up progress to achieving the vision for Carrick
