Carrick - Scotland beyond the Tourist Guides

Carrick - Scotland Beyond the Tourist Guides Book

"Carrick - Scotland beyond the tourist guides" was published in September 2009. The book is a wonderful read and has had much success and popularity already. It is available to buy online at Amazon, at Waterstones Bookshop in Ayr, and at The Sweetie Shop and The Wave in Girvan. You may find it stocked at other businesses in South West Scotland also.

You can even buy the book here at Ailsa Horizons, by phoning Stacy on (01465)710628 or via email at stacy.ailsahorizons@live.co.uk, be it for yourself, for a gift or to give your customers the chance to buy this great read. (Trade prices available, please contact Stacy.)

The book was produced in a project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Hadyard Hill Community Benefit Fund Ltd. The project was managed by Ailsa Horizons on behalf of the Carrick Community Councils' Forum.

With it's 4 sections of Geology, Flora, Fauna & History, the book has two main aims: firstly to help local people to learn more about their area and take more pride in it, and secondly to give visitors and potential visitors to Carrick - literally beyond the tourist guides - good reasons to spend time in this relatively unfrequented part of South West Scotland. It is packed with much unknown information on the Carrick area - but it is not tiring - with great imagery from the Girvan Camera Club and local artists included also.
